Mur Pamięci

 

Centralnym elementem Parku Wolności w Muzeum Powstania Warszawskiego jest Mur Pamięci o długości 156 m, na których granitowych płytach wyryto ponad 11 tysięcy nazwisk żołnierzy powstania poległych w powstaniu. Lista ta jest nieustannie uzupełniana.

W centralnej części Muru zawieszono ważący 230 kg dzwon „Monter”, poświęcony Antoniemu Chruścielowi – dowódcy powstania warszawskiego. Dzwon bije 1 sierpnia o godzinie „W”, czyli o 17.00 – godzinie wybuchu powstania warszawskiego.

Zentrales Element des Freiheitsparks am Museum des Warschauer Aufstands ist die 156 m lange Gedenkmauer, auf deren Granitplatten über 11.000 Namen der im Aufstand gefallenen Aufstandssoldaten eingraviert sind. Diese Liste wird laufend ergänzt. Im mittleren Teil der Mauer wurde eine 230 Kilogramm schwere „Monter“-Glocke aufgehängt, die Antoni Chruściel, dem Kommandanten des Warschauer Aufstands, gewidmet war. Die Glocke läutet am 1. August zur „W“-Stunde, also um 17.00 Uhr – der Stunde des Ausbruchs des Warschauer Aufstands.

The central element of the Freedom Park at the Warsaw Uprising Museum is the 156 m long Memorial Wall, on whose granite slabs over 11,000 names of the uprising soldiers who died in the uprising are engraved. This list is constantly being supplemented. In the central part of the Wall, a 230-kilogram “Monter” bell, dedicated to Antoni Chruściel, the commander of the Warsaw Uprising, was hung. The bell rings on August 1 at the "W" hour, i.e. at 17.00 - the hour of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising.
